Damanhour University Participates in the Climate Summit COP 27 in Sharm El-Sheikh

 

 

His Excellency Mr. President / Abdel Fattah El-Sisi - President of the Republic -

emphasized that Africa is the most affected continent  by emissions and the effects of climate change, although it is the least contributing to its causes.

He added that climate change is considered a threat to countries on the continent that suffer from desertification, water scarcity,

sea level rise, floods, and other severe weather events. Therefore, Damanhour University,

headed by Prof. Dr. Abdel Hamid El Sayed Abdel Hamid - Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research -

was keen to participate in the Climate Summit Conference COP 27,

which was held in Sharm El-Sheikh from 6 to 18 November 2022.

Prof. Dr. Abdel Hamid explained that this conference is the largest gathering to discuss ways and mechanisms to confront climate change

to address the climate emergency and its effects on the environment globally.

He added that Egypt's hosting of the climate conference (Cop 27) indicates Egypt's efforts in the field of climate change
